This is a draft class loaded with talent, and there are 6 Quarterbacks with a chance to go in the first two rounds.
6) Jayden Daniels (LSU)
This guy can run, we know that, but there is something I do not trust about heavy running guys in college. I think the defenses in the NFL will be significantly quicker to adapt to his abilities. I still believe that his arm provides enough promise for him to be a borderline 1st Rounder, but I am nowhere near as high on him as some.
2023 Stats: 3,812 Passing Yards, 40 TDs, 4 INTs, 95.6 QBR, 1,134 Rushing Yards, 10 TDs.
5) JJ McCarthy (Michigan)
McCarthy has led Michigan to an undefeated season and a CFP National Championship Appearance, but many believe that he is being masked by the superstar team around him. He is a high floor, low ceiling type player that in college, threw low interception numbers, but also not many yards. To me, McCarthy seems like they type of guy that a team would have to make sure they stay the same, not get better or worse. If McCarthy is on a team where he has stars around him, like Michigan, than he has potential to be great.
2023 Stats: 2,851 Passing Yards, 22 TDs, 4 INTs, 89.5 QBR, 171 Rushing Yards, 3 TDs.
4) Bo Nix (Oregon)
Nix has significantly improved this season, and it shows with his stats, and the win loss-record. One of the major concerns with Nix throughout this process has been that he is already 23, and some are worried that most of his major developments have already happened. However, in my opinion, if someone puts up anywhere near the stats that Nix put up this past season, while also leading them to a New Year's Six Bowl in a tough conference, he is worth the shot, no matter how old.
2023 Stats: 4,508 Passing Yards, 45 TDs, 3 INTs, 91.2 QBR, 234 Rushing Yards, 6 TDs
3) Drake Maye (UNC)
Maye is widely considered the 2nd best QB in this class, right behind Caleb Williams. However, the UNC games I have watched this year have made me nothing but skeptical. I have no doubt that the talent is there, and he has the arm & the speed needed to succeed, it's just a matter of how he uses it and the decision he makes. If Maye has the right guys around him that support his play style, he could shine in the NFL.
2023 Stats: 3,608 Passing Yards, 24 TDs, 9 INTs, 79.3 QBR, 449 Rushing Yards, 9 TDs.
2) Michael Penix Jr. (Washington)
Penix has had an excellent season so far, as he has led Washington to the CFP championship. He appeared to be the Heisman favorite at the midway point of this season, until Jayden Daniels took the College Football world by storm. He just put up over 400 yards passing in the biggest game of his career, and proved once again that he can play well when under extreme pressure. Much like Nix, though, there are concerns about Penix's age (23) and how it will effect his development.
2023 Stats: 4,648 Passing Yards, 35 TDs, 9 INTs, 85.7 QBR, 13 Rushing Yards, 3 TDs.
1) Caleb Williams (USC)
Williams has been the surefire #1 QB in this class for almost a year and a half now, and rightfully so. He has been a consistent superstar in college throughout the last couple of years, and has earned his spot as a blue chip prospect. Although the USC program as a whole did not find the greatest success this season, there was never a doubt that Williams was one of, if not the best player in this draft, and whichever team ends up with him has almost certainly altered their franchise's future for the better.
2023 Stats: 3,633 Passing Yards, 30 TDs, 5 INTs, 82.4 QBR, 136 Rushing Yards, 11 TDS.
