Titans Biggest Needs this Offseason

The Tennessee Titans have a big offseason ahead of them, with multiple big names possibly leaving, and a top 10 Draft Pick. They have glaring needs at important positions on both sides of the ball, and plenty of money to spend in free agency.

Top 3 Positional Needs

3) Wide Receiver

The Titans found a temporary fix in DeAndre Hopkins, but he is 31 with only 1 year left on his contract, and will likely look to sign with a contender when that contract is up. Treylon Burks has not lived up to what was expected, and Kyle Philips has been a healthy scratch multiple times and it is possible that he gets cut in the upcoming offseason. The other options are Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Colton Dowell (Torn ACL), and Chris Moore. There is a small possibility that they decide to go with a receiver in Round 1, but it is more likely that they pick one in round 2 or 3.

Tennessee will likely need to pick up a couple of depth guys to complement Hopkins, and give Treylon Burks one last shot to prove he was worth the pick.

2) Cornerback

The bad secondary play of the Titans was okay when the offensive unit was holding up well enough for both sides, but with the offense doing what they have done the past couple of seasons, there is more of a spotlight than ever on the defense.

The defensive line has been excellent, but it feels as though the opposition converts every 3rd & Long. Kristian Fulton seemed like the surefire CB1 just a couple of short years ago, but his career since has been riddled with injuries and inconsistent play. UDFAs Tre Avery and Eric Garror have provided solid value considering how little they costed, but neither seem to be a long term option. Roger McCreary has looked solid in his 2 years, and could be an option, but he is likely more of a CB2. Sean Murphy-Bunting has looked nice since signing a 1 year deal late in the offseason, and it is possible he gets resigned, but that would likely be another 1 or 2 year deal.

This team's DB room is deep, but they lack a clear #1, and that could be a top target in free agency. The first round of the draft appears to be reserved for offensive line, although a cornerback is a high possibility in the second.

1) Offensive Line

They seem to have their QB in Will Levis, but are in desperate need of an offensive line to protect him. They signed Andre Dillard to be the LT they were missing last season, but ended up arguably worse than the infamous Dennis Daley. C Aaron Brewer has been an excellent run blocker, but has also struggled mightily in the passing game. Rookie Peter Skoronski has proven that he can be the LG of the future, and RG Dan Brunskill has played well enough to earn a short contract extension. RT Dillon Radunz has looked rough, and the team is sure to move on from him. Another rookie, Jaelyn Duncan (6th Round), has been shaky, and could be a swing tackle, but is not likely to be a full time starter.

There are at least 2 positions that need to be filled, with a possibility of a third. Especially with those 2 positions being at the tackle position, the Titans need players to support their QB of the future.
