Predicted Top 4 In The English Premier League

Published on 11 January 2024 at 21:22

Halfway through the 2023-2024 Premier League season, the league standings are a lot different from what was expected at the beginning of the season. Aston Villa has been the surprise team of the season, currently sitting at second in the league, which is a great improvement their seventh place finish last season. While Aston Villa is playing well I don't think they can keep this momentum going and eventually they will slip out of the top four, due to lack of top-quality players in their team. Aston Villa have won important games this season against Arsenal and Manchester City, but they have struggled to produce results against struggling teams such as Sheffield United and Nottingham Forrest who are both currently in the relegation battle which is why I don't think they will sustain these good performances. This season has been very interesting so far but here are my predicted top 4 teams.

4th place - Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham is currently in fifth place, following closely behind the teams currently in the top 4. Over the past couple of seasons, Tottenham has come very close to the top 4 but are yet to reach that milestone. This season they have done very well considering they sold their best player to Bayern Munich. They recently bought Timo Werner, who in his previous time in the league failed to produce on many occasions, but even though he struggled I think he will boost them into the top 4 with his high energy playstyle, not allowing opponent's defenders any time on the ball which forces errors that Tottenham's attack can and will capitalize on. Their team is packed with talent with some very impressive breakthrough seasons this year, and if they can stay consistent then they will finish in the top 4 comfortably.

3rd place - Liverpool

Even though Liverpool is currently in first place I don't think they can sustain their good performances. Liverpool has a lot of young players that in the coming years will become some of the world's best, but at this time their star studded squad is becoming old, their best players are getting old, and I think a lack of squad depth in certain positions could hurt them if injuries do occur.

2nd place - Arsenal

Arsenal has been performing high above expectations the past two seasons, but in the final games of the season they have crumbled under pressure, this year I don't think the title race will be as close due to current standings, but I think Arsenal will still play well. The young squad is packed with quality players and as they grow into their roles within the organization they will continue to improve. However. at this stage, some of their players are still too inexperienced and don't know how to play at the level they normally do in high pressure situations. In the coming years they will surely be favorites to win the title, but for now they remain a consistent top 4 team.

1st place - Manchester City

This season Manchester City have continued their dominant reign over the Premier League. Although they aren't currently in first I believe the quality of their squad and coaching staff will eventually get the edge over the other contenders for the title. Manchester City has too much firepower for the league to handle, with Erling Haaland, who is consistently scoring goals at an amazing rate, at striker. In the coming years Manchester City's squad will become weaker as some of the core players grow older but the squad will always remain strong and will always be favorites for the title coming into any season. The talent in their current team is far greater than the rest of the teams and that is why I picked them to win the league.

Liverpool should be first.
