Throughout recent years soccer has evolved as a sport very quickly, as more money is being pumped into the sport consistently. The problem with a lot of money is that it lures top quality players away from the highest level of soccer to teams that will pay them more money. Money will always play a big role in any sport but when the teams rely on their funding to build their team and to be able to compete it becomes unfair on teams that aren't as well funded. This is a problem that needs to be addressed.
Over the past year, the Saudi Pro League (SPL) has taken over the market, dominating many moves involving the world's best players due to a lack of rules surrounding input of money. Many players have chosen more money over better teammates or teams and this means that the quality of the best leagues in the world is decreasing as the players are moving away for more money. This means the sport is less interesting to watch for many fans as the big name players that they followed before now play in a different league which isn't as interesting, creating a big problem for the sport. The reason it is a problem is because the leagues rely on viewership to fund them and with big players moving away it means the viewership is decreasing as people are less inclined to watch that league.
The downfall of soccer may be fast approaching due to a lack of rules surrounding money input, at this rate the sport may be completely run by money within 10 years which means that the passion surrounding teams that aren't as rich will disappear and slowly the love for the sport will decrease. This is why is think that money is ruining the sport, and the sport needs to to adapt to keep soccer at (or even near) the top.
